19 JunÂé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»¡¯S FIRST MODELLING GRADUATES TAKE TO THE RUNWAY
KUALA LUMPUR ¨C 19 June 2007 (Sunday) ¨C Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» held its first Modelling Graduation Show at the Mines Shopping Fair in grand style on 19 June 2007.
The show kicked-off with a choreographed dance by the students, followed by a dance by the group ¡°Black Rose¡±. This was preceded by a fashion show that saw students parading 3 sets of costumes from casual outfits to glittering evening wear.
During his speech, Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»¡¯s Vice-Chancellor and President, Peter T. S. Ng said, ¡°As today is Father¡¯s Day, I feel like a very proud father watching our first batch of students graduating from this course¡±. He spoke words of encouragement to the new graduates and said he was certain that despite the short length of the course, the students were able to build-up their confidence and learn the practical aspects of the fashion business.
The 10 students received their certificates from Vice-Chancellor and President, Peter Ng and Ms. Vilashiiney Panneerselvam or Ash was selected as Best Student by the tutors of this course.
Ash said, ¡°I enjoyed taking this course as it helped build-up my self-confidence. I was quite shy before, but now I am able to walk on a runway and face a large audience.¡±
According to Linda Hurley, Head of the Department of Fashion, ¡°The course aims to educate our students to be aware of the pitfalls and exploitations that can be prevalent in the world of modelling and promotions,¡± she said. ¡°We hope we have inspired them to become true ambassadors of their profession.
